Doug received his  B.A. and M.A. in history from the University of Mississippi.  He works at the Independence Seaport Museum in Philadelphia.

He was previously the director of  The Stanly County Historic Preservation Commission and Museum, in Stanly County, North Carolina.  Click here to visit its web page.

Along with Heather, is the proud parent of a 5 lb. Chihuahua named Scout.  He enjoys sailing, model trains and old stuff.
